Childbirth Class = Slightly Traumatizing

Last Thursday we went to our first childbirth class at the University Hospital.  I was excited to go just because it meant we were that much closer to having our little girl!!  But I was also wondering what we would experience this first class.  I tried to warn Kyle that we might be seeing something we really didn't want to, but I didn't want to completely scare him out of going!
Anyway, the class started out great.  We talked about what we would discuss through the rest of the course, our likes and dislikes of pregnancy and the teacher gave us some tips that were supposed to help with back pain (we never really got these down, so don't ask me what they were!)
Then, the teacher started getting the projector set up and I knew that we were in for some fun.  So, of course we watch a video that shows a live birth, not leaving anything out...I won't elaborate.  Somehow Kyle and I missed this part of health class back in the good old days in High School.  Lets just say that I was only slightly traumatized, but Kyle almost lost it!  He'll definitely be standing by my head when the time comes.  He's so cute, the next morning he said he kept seeing the little head pop out all night.
We are so excited though, we only have 8.5 weeks to go until we meet our little girl!

First of Hopefully Many More to Come!

Well, although I have been reading people's blogs everyday for quite some time, I'm still not exactly sure how to pull one off myself.  So, here goes.  Hopefully I do better at this than writing in my nonexistent journal.

Kyle and I just got back from a trip with my family down to St. George.  It was wondrous - the weather was absolutely perfect!  We were able to rent a house for 3 nights with 5 bedrooms.  We had our own pool, barbeque, kitchen and everything - so much better than staying in a hotel (and probably much cheaper since we cooked all our own food)!

We had a great time! The guys went golfing and the girls went shopping.  We went on a walk / bike ride, swam in our WARM pool, watched the Olympics, and pretty much just enjoyed our time away from the yucky air and weather.

It was so nice to finally be able to enjoy the outside again, the only bad part is that now I have SPRING FEVER!!  Sadly I don't have any pictures to post - we remembered our camera, but forgot to use it!

Special thanks to Kyle's parents for watching Sammy for us - we soooo appreciated it!
